A series of non-intimidating workshops tailored for beginners and those who want to revisit the foundations of the Vinyasa Yoga practice. We will break down the fundamental concepts and principles of Vinyasa Yoga, Sun Salutations, and beginner-friendly arm balancing and inversions.
In each of these 2 hrs workshops, we take the time to analyze essential and most common Yoga poses, how to get into and out of them, and most importantly - how to tailor them to your body, individual constitution, and your practice.
Each session will start with a proper warm-up and end with a few yin poses and a soothing Savasana.
You will leave each workshop not only feeling stronger but also more confident and empowered the next time you join a group class!
This is perfect for you if you have recently started practicing, or if you have taken a break from the mat for whatever reason. It can serve as a perfect transition if you have started yoga online and now want to move to in-person classes!
An intro to… Arm balancing
Any pose where we balance on our hands and arms rather than on our feet is an arm balance. The keys to mastering these sometimes daunting poses are Strength, Flexibility, Balance, and Confidence. These challenging poses will be broken down in detail for a non-intimidating approach for absolute beginners, and you will learn a step-by-step approach for a safe and fun exploration of arm balancing. You will build an understanding of the concepts of weight bearing on your arms, which will further unlock a whole series of fun and playful arm balancing poses in your practice.
In this workshop, we will focus mostly on the Crow pose (Bakasana) and its relatives such as Side Crow (Parsva Bakasana) and Eka Pada Koundinyasana 1 and 2 (sometimes known as “Flying Splits”).
* Open for all, especially beginners.
